Week 16

Hej :)  GOD JUL FRÅN SVERIGE I hope all of you had a wonderful and  joyous Christmas :)  While talking to my family on Christmas my dad decided to start screen sharing, and then he pulled up the weather app to show that it was 75 degrees in Florida. I laughed. Then cried?? Now that Christmas is over I am READY for the summer!  Christmas as a missionary was amazing. Here I am so far away, and I just got to minister to those who were around me. I feel so blessed to be a representative of Jesus Christ right now.  We had 3 lessons cancel in 1 day. That's a lot haha. BUT we were not dismayed, so we grabbed a box of cookies, put a bow on it, and decided to take them to someone we knew in the building next to us.  She didn't answer.  So we went down to the retirement home. They were closed. (Still don't understand that one). So we walked to the gas station to give them to the workers. It was actually a car shop, and no one was there.   We slowly wal...

Tjena :)  I am alive and well in Västra Frölunda  I am so TIRED and so HAPPY! I got a blister on my hand from lugging around my bags this week, and I got to eat my 5th julbord!  Here are some small victories this week: - Sewed up a dress in the dark  - Said the closing prayer in Swedish (after walking up to the front for the opening prayer because of ~ language barriers ~ tehe) - Started learning Norwegian pronunciation for a song  - Remembered the word Guapa in Spanish so I could compliment someone's baby  - Drank a smoothie even though my hands were icicles  - Learned some words about fish in Swedish  - Said goodbye to Syster Newitt and only teared up a little  - Told someone on the bus that her hair was beautiful??  - SAW THE SUN AFTER 1 WEEK WOOT - Somehow fit all my crap in my suitcases  - Bore my testimony in a way I never had before, totally led by the spirit  - Watched our dear friend S be a missionary and invite one of...

Week 15

Hejjjjj!  My last week here in Gubbängen has been JAM PACKED with spiritual experiences, food, and goodbyes. So, let's get started!  We have been meeting with our dear friend j for about 1 month now, and everytime we meet I leave feeling so inspired by her faith in God. She's shared many ways she has  been so prepared to receive the restored gospel, but this one really swept us off our feet. As we ended our lunch with her she started telling us how she can remember when she was younger two missionaries in white shirts knocking on her family's door. Her mother wasn't interested and politely said no, and they were on their way. Our friend asked her mom who they were, and she said "They go around and teach people about God." Our sweet friend then told us that she then had a thought that  she would become a member of that church . And now, look at her! She's meeting with us, inviting her family, and truly learning more about Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I...

Week 14

Hejsan!!  I always have a story to tell about being where the Lord needs me, so that's going first, and THEN something funny and weird, and THEN you can look at the photos... no cheating ;)  It all starts like this: we're running late to a lesson, have no idea where the bus stop is, have 2 bags of candy in our hands from some wonderful members, and the bus leaves in 2 minutes. As we ran down the hill I said a silent prayer that we would make it to the bus so we could meet our cute friend. Like a miracle in a movie, we caught the bus as it was rolling away. We got on and I said a silent prayer of thanks that we had made it. Unfortunately in all of our speediness, we failed to notice that it was the wrong bus. #nailedit.  SO naturally I'm a little bummed, but pretty much immediately I realize that we are always where we're supposed to be (something I've been working on having faith in lately). While we were standing up in the bus trying to figure out Google Maps, I no...
