Week 4 :)

Image
Hej hej mina venner!      Another week down! I simply cannot believe it. I feel like I have aged years, but also I feel like it's been 4 days.     This week was full of love and laughter! My wonderful cousins got married on Saturday, and I was SO blessed to be able to go (#perksofhomemtc). Family is so incredibly special, I am so thankful for the knowledge that I have that I can be with my family forever. That's pretty happy stuff right there.      Other highlights include hiking Silver Lake with my brother, wearing my dad's sombrero, and.......... GETTING MY VISA! That's right, it came! If you needed a testimony on prayer PLEASE let this help. I know Heavenly Father pulled some strings for me. There was, however, a little mix up, so I may be sitting at home for a week or get a reassignment before I can go. Either way, I feel so blessed and I have no doubt that God is on my team! (Please keep praying that the rest of my district can get theirs!)...

Week #3: Is It Tack Or Takk?

Tjena tjena!     WOW WEEK 3? I am now halfway done training... unreal! This week has been full of a lot of Swedish words, a lot of prayers, and a whole heaping of joy.      But before we begin, I need to tell you a reason for mourning. We lost the best MTC teacher ever, Syster Roskelley. I will spare you the upsetting details, but the MTC's solutions to have the Norwegian teachers teach us, and to just have us "know the difference." It's so funny, I hope HQ knows they are different languages and that we don't know enough Swedish to know the difference.     And now, my reason for joy. I was SO upset about not having Syster Roskelley as a teacher anymore. I was confused as to why we would be getting Norwegian teachers. I felt like all of my effort was useless... this was a stumbling block I could simply not get over (I can be quite dramatic). All at once I started thinking about Moses (he is SO amazing and faith-filled), and how he parted the red sea. T...

Week Number 2 :) (Jesus Loves You)

Hej! (Did you like my poem in the subject line?)     Wow, week #2 already? It's almost hard to believe. They say time flies when you're having fun, but what they don't say is how much faster it goes when you're having fun AND serving the Lord. It feels like It's been 2 days!      Syster Daines (my companion) remains incredible. She gives me all the good drink tips, she makes me laugh while we're in class, and she quotes Mister Rogers at least twice a day. Her most recent quote was: " As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is , that each of us has something that no one else has- or ever will have- something inside that is unique to all time. " Amen Mister Rogers.      One of my favorite scriptures is "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God; For behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might rep...

A Cucumber Almost Won

Hej mina vänner!     You'd think it would be more than a few days before you heard from me, but my preparation day is on Wednesdays, so it's your lucky day ;)      THE HOME MTC IS AWESOME! If you are going to be serving a mission soon, and are worried about it, DON'T! I have felt the spirit so much and feel a great connection with my district, it really shows me that this is exactly where the Lord wants me to be.      My companion, syster Daines, is incredible. She read the entire Harry Potter series in 8 days. EIGHT!! She also is AMAZING at Swedish and pushes me so much! I love her.      In a devotional last night, Elder Bednar said "I am so sick of hearing people say 'You are the chosen generation, you have been saved for these last days.' It's true, but when you pick up a stick, you get BOTH ends. Know that Heavenly Father has a special purpose for you, but know that means it's going to be hard work, be ready to work." I'm not go...
