Week 51!

Image
Hej hej!  This was a week of joy and exhaustion.  Tired in the work but not of the work.  Currently typing this in line at Ikea to get meatballs after an 8 mile run, life is good. We had a day on splits where 3 dumb things happened to us and I was just plastering a smile and continuing to talk to people, praying for a positive interaction with someone.  Then we met Mari - an 87 year old grandma from Iran who was super confused when we first started talking, but then the conversation opened up and she reached into her wheelchair box thing, and grabed a homemade purse. She said "Ta det här, ni är som mina döttrar." - "Take this, you are like my daughters." Heavenly Father knew what I needed.  Another day this week I was feeling especially tired while walking down the street, and then I heard familiar voices and saw 2 of my sweet friends from Gubbängen waving from their car. Heavenly Father knew what I needed.  --  We also started teaching some new people...

Hahaha jag kan inte tro det.  Crazy to think 50 weeks have gone by just like that! Here are some highlights from this week: - MLC about being consecrated  - Decided to drop a friend and after we prayed and went to call her she called us and asked us to come over. What. - Prayed that we would be perfectly placed, said hi to the first lady I saw, and she said "are you from the church?" Talked about Heavenly Mother for 30 minutes  - Had a friend bear testimony to this random guy as we were teaching her <3 She then cried saying how thankful she is for the  church and us  - Successful ward BBQ complete with a heated game of Uno with the kids.  - Splits with Stockholm Stls & Stockholm South stls  - Had a music devotional that "was 3.5/7" - Syster Lauder  - Walked up to this sweet old lady to give her a "Kämpa På" (fight on) bracelet, and she said "that's what I'm doing right now." Ahd had the best conversation with her.  - Had a friend c...

Week 49

Hej hej!      I kid ya not I blink and it's already the start of a new week.      Also I have a question for you guys... is Sunday the start or end of the week? In my head it's always been the end but I'm starting to think I'm wrong lol...      Anyways...      We had another great week on paper, but to be honest I was feeling pretty low at the end of this week. Now I don't say this to have a "woe is me moment", I just say it to be honest. I usually write my emails like everything is perfect, and while my mission has been a wonderful experience, there have been hard times.      So there I am, at a low point, wondering if God really is helping me in this work - I had a memory that came to my head of just a few days before.      We ended up in the church that morning and we were doing our studies and all at once I had the strongest feeling to get to the center and street contact. And I was like "at 10...

Week 48!

Hej på er!  I hit 11 months as a missionary this week. We started teaching a few absolutely ELECT people this week. One of them went up to the pulpit during church yesterday to share his testimony about Jesus Christ! Our hearts melted. God is working double time to help us find these people.  -- One day we had a feeling to get into contact with this one family, so we drove 20 minutes to their apartment since we had a little time before our next lesson.  Syster Staker then spent 15 minutes trying to parallel park.  After realizing neither her nor I were skilled enough to do this, we illegally parked, knocked on their door, then left to drive another 20 minutes to our lesson.  Parking: 1 Missionary work: 0  BUT THATS THE THING!! SOMETIMES WE GOTTA DO THINGS JUST TO SHOW GOD WE'RE WILLING. The law of heaven > -- Last week Syster Staker and I went and did the ocean bus - A BUS THAT TURNS INTO A BOAT. Such a tourist trap and a fond memory I will never forget....

Week 47!!

Tjena hej!  This week was CRAZYYYYYY.  I know I say that every week but I REALLY meant it this week!  We even helped out with a funeral yesterday. The crowning event was when they started playing this party music to honor him. Iconic closing song in the Chapel.  Our sweet friend Conny has decided to get baptized this week :') The list of miracles that had lead to this is so long and sacred to me. I'm VERY excited for September 3rd.  -- 3 weeks ago on splits we went to visit an inactive member. His apartment was so hard to find but we met this nice man who helped us. Unfortunately this member wasn't home so we went and talked with this guy and had a great conversation!  On Saturday we went to go and visit this member again, and not home again (rip). BUT we went to visit this guy we talked to, and all of his grandkids were there! This lead to a 30 minute conversation with them about faith in God and what we do. One of them lived in a different part of town an...
