I Am In Sweden... (NOT CLICKBAIT)

Hej hej mina vänner!      To answer the question that is on everyone's minds, yes... I did try pickeled herring AND IT IS SO YUM! I had no expectation of loving it, but on a little charcuterie board it's the shining star.     You know how you look at a group of people, and you can immediately tell you're going to be friends? The sisters here gave us chocolate when we met them, it really was love at first sight. My trainer is Syster Newitt, she is one of the most uplifting people I have ever met. We eat the same foods, have the same style, and both love to be busy. It's a match made in heaven :)      I am currently living in Gubbängen, Sweden, which is near Stockholm. It's absolutely beautiful here. The trees are just starting starting to change colors, and there is water EVERYWHERE! It's a dream come true!      Speaking of dreams (smooth transition, I know), funny story. You know how in a missionary movie a greenie would get into th...

Christmas Came Early :)

Hej hej hej!!     To cut right to the chase, I fly out tomorrow! As you can imagine a dutiful missionary would be, I am frantically packing today . I am so nervous, but SO excited, I've been waiting for 6 months and it's finally here!     My family has a few family traditions, mostly with food, and this week we were able to celebrate pretty much all of them! Every Christmas Eve my mom makes mashed potatoes and chicken noodle soup, and you pour the soup over the potatoes.... it is absolutely incredible and you must try it.      I also got to go to a haunted car wash this week. Let me tell ya, there is nothing scarier than your brother trying to open your car door so the scary clown dude can come sit next to you. I am looking forward to 18 months of not worrying about that!      Our awesome MTC teacher, brother Hamilton, had us listen to the talk "The First Great Commandment."      "My beloved brothers and sisters, I am not ...

Week 6 :)

Tjena tjena!     It has been a fantastic week full of laughs and miracles.      Syster Hammond and her loving family hosted most of our district for dinner and class over the weekend. Those who were not there, we sorely missed. Her family made Swedish meatballs  and her grandma made a Princess Torta cake. I WILL learn how to make one on my mission so I can come home and make it for special occasions. You are ALL welcome in advance.      Seeing my district in person was SO weird! They had legs! They were tall! We weren't cutting in and out! They are all so Christ-like, and are all fantastic missionaries who will bring people closer to Jesus Christ. De ska hjälpa andra att komma till Kristus.      My miracle of the week:      Now, this is no Moses parting the red sea, but not a day has gone by in the past 3 days that I have not thought of it.     Syster Layton and I were practicing teaching one of our t...

The End Of An Era - (Week 5)

Image
Hej hej mina venner!      What a beautiful week. Might I say, a beautiful life!      My beautiful mother got to head to Disney World this last weekend, and she had the time of her life. While she was gone, my dad put me to work on some projects in the house and the garden.     Here's one thing about gardening, I love it . Here's a second thing about gardening, there are spiders . I braved the mess of tomato plants by blurring my eyes so I couldn't see any movement that wasn't huge. It was honestly really smart (joking). Unfortunately, after 30 minutes I had to focus more on pulling the plants out, and one by one I noticed not one, not two, BUT THREE SPIDERS WITHIN INCHES OF ME. Needless to say, my loving brother Jayden finished the task for me.       Thankfully I had planty of time to recover (hah, get it?) by listening to General Conference this last weekend. I could sit here and type for hours about what stood out to me, but I wi...
