Week 13

Image
Tjena :)  I'm going to jump right into this week with an AMAZING miracle. 2 weeks ago we were pretty much almost kidnapped (not being dramatic at all). We took the wrong train, and while we were trying to find a bus to take us back this guy came up to us and started talking to us. At first I was really excited, because no one does that here... but that's when I realized that no one does that here. His questions were all over the place but ended up with him saying that he liked us and that he wanted to date us... sigh. The good part: when we found the bus stop we started talking to a girl standing there since he was watching us from around the corner. THIS GIRL WAS SO NICE and we talked until he finally left us alone. The bad part: our bus came before we could get her contact info. (our bad). SOOO we have been praying everyday to see this girl again. We got on the bus Thursday morning, and just like a movie this girl sees us, stands up, shouts "HEJ HEJ!" and runs to co...

Week 12 (One Month In Sweden?!)

Image
Hej hej!  These weeks are going by wayyyyyy too fast. I've already been in Sweden for a month, that doesn't feel real at all to me. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to be here :)  We taught S the restoration of the Church this week, AND HER SON CAME TOO! She made us homemade deserts again and herbal tea that had flowers in it. She is so precious. We had a sister from our ward come to the lesson, and at the end of the lesson S mentioned how she was going to go visit her mom in the hospital because she's fighting lung cancer right now. Our dear friend said that her father passed away a year about from lung cancer. It was small and simple, but I saw how she was able to comfort S in a way we wouldn't have been able to. Heavenly Father is definitely watching out for her.  We had a lunch fall through this week, and 10 minutes after it did we got a text from one of our friends asking if we could meet then. My jaw almost touched the floor. You see, this happens EVERY T...

Week 11?????

TJENA!  This week has been so incredibly incredible. Never have I felt so spiritually enlightened and tired at the same time! But, that just goes with giving everything to the Lord, He puts you to work!  To start off, the gift of tongues is real. All the missionaries in the stockholm area got together this week to do a zone conference and talk about ways we can improve and better help the people here come closer to Christ, and it was all in Swedish, but I understood all of it. I kid you not, it was absolutely insane to realize in the moment that I knew what they were saying and how I could apply it. I know it was Heavenly Father helping me so I could improve as a missionary. SO COOL!!  OKAY, so I have gotten some requests to talk about someone we are teaching, prepare yourselves  Here name is S, and I love her. I can tell how much she cares about finding the truth. She knew very little about the church, but read online that it will help her find peace, and I kid...

Week 10 :)

Hej hej :)  This week we had so many little appointments fall through, and everytime I was sad, but EVERYTIME something better came our way!  We had a fika setup with a sweet girl in our ward, and we were on the train there when she messaged saying she couldn't make it. We were sad, but figured we could find something productive to do in Stockholm. We got off at the next stop to go to the Red Cross to finish setting up our volunteer schedule, so we crossed the road and saw this guy with this wheelbarrow full of vegan chipotle mayo (it was a real company I swear)! This girl next to us said "That was so nice", and we were like "uh yeah so nice!" AND THEN SHE SAW OUR TAGS AND GOT SO EXCITED (which doesn't happen??????). She said she's a member, but she's been inactive for 10 years, and then she was like "I live right here, wanna come in?"  And we had the most beautiful time with her. We talked about our dreams, challenges, and everything else....

Week 8 ♡ (I Think? Maybe 9?)

HEJ HEJ HEJ!  How do you communicate when you don't know what anyone is saying? I honestly am still learning haha.  It's super humbling to talk to little kids and to have no idea what's going on, but you know you can show you love them by saying " jätte bra" (very good) evey time they show you a fidget spinner, and by pointing out everything that is " blå " (blue) with them :)  I have found that I can communicate more with actions than anything . I've always always a words type of person, but the Lord needs me to adapt :)  ANYWAYS it was the best week!!  I got to try Ethiopian food! The bread was literally a sour sponge, but it was good with lentils and potatoes and cabbage! We ate it with our fingers... apparently we did good because she invited us to her baby shower this week and gave us traditional Ethiopian clothes to wear, to say I'm stoked is an understatement :))) We played a traditional Swedish game, which honestly feels more like a lifes...
