Week 8 ♡ (I Think? Maybe 9?)
HEJ HEJ HEJ!
How do you communicate when you don't know what anyone is saying? I honestly am still learning haha.
It's super humbling to talk to little kids and to have no idea what's going on, but you know you can show you love them by saying "jätte bra" (very good) evey time they show you a fidget spinner, and by pointing out everything that is "blå" (blue) with them :)
I have found that I can communicate more with actions than anything. I've always always a words type of person, but the Lord needs me to adapt :)
ANYWAYS it was the best week!!
I got to try Ethiopian food! The bread was literally a sour sponge, but it was good with lentils and potatoes and cabbage! We ate it with our fingers... apparently we did good because she invited us to her baby shower this week and gave us traditional Ethiopian clothes to wear, to say I'm stoked is an understatement :)))
We played a traditional Swedish game, which honestly feels more like a lifestyle. It's hockey but in a church gym (innebandy). Kids were doing spin moves and scoring from half-court... it was SO cool! Not to brag... but I did have the opportunity to score.. and I did... this one sweet member shouted "OREM OREM OREM!!!" He must really like Orem. But honestly, so much love for the people here.
Since we're opening this area up, there are a lot of phone calls. Since I can not talk well enough to do that yet, it's a lot of listening to phone calls. This has led to some connections with some amazing people. After one lesson with L., we all felt love, and she asked why she could already feel it, I mean, we had just met.
This popped into my head:
1 John 4:7-9
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
It's as simple as that. The love comes from God. In that moment he was sharing a part of who he is with us so we could connect on a deeper level. L is now going to read the Book of Mormon with us, she wants to find God in it, and I know she will.
ANYWAYS, ENOUGH RAMBLING RIGHT? Don't worry, pictures below ;)
