Week 56

Tjena hej!  What a fabulous week. Miracles upon miracles.  I decided to share a story with you guys about our friend Oli (with her permission).  Oli grew up a believer in God, and experienced many trials, including abuse. She always wondered if she was a mistake, if she was known by God, what the point was.  One day it got pretty bad, she was sitting in her car trying to decide if she would end her life. She didn't know why, but at the last second she felt a little more strength to keep on going.  Soon after that a girl came over to buy some cups from her, and mentioned she was a member of the Chrurch of Jesus Christ.  One thing led to another and we started teaching her a few weeks ago. And this week? She set a baptismal date!  She told us this week that she doesn't think about death anymore, she feels closer to God, and holes that she has have been filled with the gospel. She read the Book of Mormon, prayed, and immediately knew it was true.  I ...

Week 55!

Tjena hej!  This was a week to never forget, full speed all day everyday.  To start off, it's cold now and that means 1 thing: spiders in the house.  I threw my shoe at one to try and kill it but I missed its body and instead got its leg... so then the 7 legged spider hobbled into our shoes and neither of us wanted to pick up the leg in the middle of our hallway, so we avoided it like the plague.  And then the next day we say the same type of spider crawl UNDER OUR OVEN. terrifying.  ANYWAYS: some short items - our friend said she wants to get baptized! When I first came here I put in an email thay a part-member family here would come to sportkväll in Gubbängen, now look at us! She's so happy too, so good.  - finished zone conferences in Stockholm South and Stockholm. Not sure who cut the onion but there was not a dry eye in the room during our last one. Tender.  - Syster Staker is leaving Syster Daines is coming. Transfers truly are bit...

Week 54

Hej på er!  This week felt like 3 seconds... a lot happened this week haha.  We had zone conferences in Göteborg, Malmö, and Norrland!  Well... it would've been in Norrland but we and the elders totally missed the plane. We all learned on Tuesday that our parents took us to the airport 5 hours early for a reason. The joys of adulthood. But- the grace of Jesus Christ allowed us to make the situation work, and even be beneficial. Someone we've been trying to get in contact with messaged us as this was going down and asked us to come over and teach the whole family, huge tender mercy  -- On our way home from the South of Sweden we talked with 5 PEOPLE who knew members of our church or who were interested in the Gospel or who have been waiting for a sign to start being closer to God. One of the sweet ladies we talked to said "this maybe wasn't a coincidence that we sat next to each other."  I know that the Lord leads us to people, but he also leads other people...

Week 53

OKEJ WAIT WAIT WAIT!  I got set apart as missionary 1 year ago today, how on earth did that happen? Conny got baptized over the weekend! After he got the Holy Ghost he said "jag känner mig starkare." "I feel stronger."  We also had 6 of our investigators there to witness this, there was such a sweet spirit in the Chapel.  And then of course, to celebrate we took Conny to eat Waffles with Pablo! It was a perfect Saturday afternoon. Conny's story can be easily compared to kintsugi - he had cracks, even cracks from the gospel before. But with the help of a deeper understanding of the atonement, those cracks were not just fixed or repaired, they were restored (helaman 12:23-24). Filled with gold and sealed to make the cracks not only stronger, but more beautiful. (Ps. Shoutout to all of you College kids starting up. I have to do mental math and split our grocery bill in half every other week and my brain literally cannot do that längre tehe. #econmajor) Things I did...
