Week 56

Tjena hej!

What a fabulous week. Miracles upon miracles.

I decided to share a story with you guys about our friend Oli (with her permission).

Oli grew up a believer in God, and experienced many trials, including abuse. She always wondered if she was a mistake, if she was known by God, what the point was.

One day it got pretty bad, she was sitting in her car trying to decide if she would end her life. She didn't know why, but at the last second she felt a little more strength to keep on going.

Soon after that a girl came over to buy some cups from her, and mentioned she was a member of the Chrurch of Jesus Christ.

One thing led to another and we started teaching her a few weeks ago. And this week? She set a baptismal date!

She told us this week that she doesn't think about death anymore, she feels closer to God, and holes that she has have been filled with the gospel. She read the Book of Mormon, prayed, and immediately knew it was true.

I love how simple it is. I love how willing she was to try. I hope you all know how much God loves each and every one of you, he is there no matter where you've been, and he'll always take you where you need to go

I could write a novel about a few other things but I'll just stick with my famous bullet points

- couldn't get into a building at 8:30pm. Waited 5 minutes, prayed, and during the prayer we heard footsteps come running down the stairs. AN IMMEDIATE ANSWER!!
- transfers !! syster daines (my mtc comp) is here and we are thriving together. Already have drinken so much Oatley.
- the church didn't have bowls so I took my salad on-the-go with a pot. Got a lot of funny looks
- sacrament meeting was SO spiritual yesterday!! Watching these people who I care about so deeply come and share their testimonies touched me.
- a returning member we've been working with for a bit called us in tears, super stressed about a family situation. After we talked for a bit we told her to come to church the next day and that God would give her council. In relief society she read a paragraph our of the talk we were studying and says "this is word for word what I needed. " Amazing.
- Stood in the doorway of those guys gosse giving him a Book of Mormon and he says the actual words "if Jesus was so powerful why didn't he visit the people on the American continent." Uhhhh... fire.

Love you all!
- Syster Helquist
