Week 64
Hejsan!
IT SNOWED. like a lot. Would've been snowed in all day but the elders came and saved us #givethanks
I am writing this in line to get winter tires on, we are so prepared.
This week was fire. I would like to take some time on my pedestal and tell everyone about the story when Nephi broke his bow.
Quick recap:
- in the wilderness
- needs to hunt food to survive
- uses his awesome steel bow to do so
- breaks said bow
- family complains against him
- makes a wooden bow
- has the Lord tell him where to go
- gets food
Quick recap about me when I read this story:
- in snowy wilderness
- needs to fulfill my missionary purpose
- usually used skills to do so
- feels more tired than usual
- feels like less success is seen
So a few parallels. TBH I felt like a broken steel bow for a second this week! But I realized something from this story. It doesn't matter if I'm a steel bow or a wooden bow, the Lord will get his work done no matter what. The question isn't what is my skill or ability, it's "am I working with the lord?"
The Scriptures spoke to me in a moment where I needed it.
Other highlights //
- splits w/ Göteborg!! I got to be with my BESTIE Sys Chandler! Moment of silence for the fact that my vegan queen is going home in 3 weeks
- splits w/ Stockholm!! Went on a run on ice, and got lost in freezing weather for 1 hour after 2 hours of outdoor street contacting. Needless to say we were icecles
- was on a train at 6 am and noticed this girl sleeping. The spirit said "try to talk to her, she only speaks spanish and is Christian?" Sure enough, it was true. She was SO nice and happy I woke her up lol, and I got to use my Spanish! (Side note - she asked where I was going and I opened up my phone and a picture of the Bolivian temple was pulled up from a lesson the day before AND SHE WAS FROM BOLIVIA AND KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WAS SHOWING HER hype.)
- made probably 32 your mom jokes (sorry Sys Daines)
- Went and played soccer at 6:30 am while it was snowing, what a memory...
- shoveled the driveway this morning, gör groceries, came back, and we couldn't pull in because there was so much snow.
I love you all! Happy Thanksgiving! Eat some of my grandma's homemade cranberry sauce for me :')
