Week 61

Hej på er!!

This was the week of ~bread~ !!

Bought normal bread at the store, then a loaf from the bakery, then made foccia, and then rolls. Consequantly it was a wonderful week.

We put in some fun finding hours this week. One of the areas was about 45 minutes away but we had plans to meet some members there so we did a whole Märsta day. 

Let me just say, the people did not expect us with open arms. Don't know what I was expecting, but after 30 minutes of solid rejection me and Sys Daines were just giggling with how funny it was. 

I remembered a scripture I had read that morning:

And the place where it is my will that you should tarry, for the main, shall be signalized unto you by the peace and power of my Spirit, that shall flow unto you.

We both felt peace, and kept going. Eventually this guy walked up to US and said "Oj nej, missionärerna!" And we immediately started talking to him. 

Turns out he met with the missionaries 30 years ago in Märsta. His mom had just passed away, and we talked about hope. Got his Facebook and he sent us message "thank you for being my friends." 

So simple, so true. 

I love how often in the Doctrine and Covenants the Lord refers to us as His Friends. In return, I hope to show this same love to others. 

AND - 

This same night we tracked down a member referral of an inactive member. I have never been so lost before haha, but we still had peace. Prayers and door knocking and wandering passed and eventually we found him. He invited us in with a warm smile. 

Other random details:

- Sys Daines was sick on Saturday, so I tackled some family history. A member's friend actually gave me some info I had been looking for and after some digging I was able to add about 10 new people, with so many more to go!! So happy :)

- Split up for street contacting and this lady was not interested in talking to me until I said I liked her brioche (is that bread lol?), then we had the most tender conversation about prayer. #blowdownthesmokescreen.

- God has a sense of humor: taught out dear friend Björn about the Word of Wisdom, asked him if he thought it would help him in his life, he said yes absolutely, then someone comes into the room with a cart of coffee and cinnamon rolls and offers them to us. Classic. 

- Ate some Haitian food with Phill and his mom !! Talked about American food (casseroles??)

- Didn't know where to put our fresh-baked foccocia, so we put it in a pillow case 

- My companion slept for 18 hours in one day, genuinely impressed. 

- idk if I ever said this but I bought a knock-off tamagatchi. It dies everyday because I can't take it into lessons 

- Saw someone with the last name Hellquist!! So close. 

- Ordered a pumpkin hot chocolate, blew the barista's minds. 

3 transfers... I don't know how they're gonna get me to leave haha.
